5 star camping at its best. Been coming here now for several years and never fails to impress. As with most campsites there is a quiet time although it always seems very tranquil even during the day. Adults only so even better.

They have recently introduced fire pits, in my opinion expensive to hire, if you bring your own it must be smokeless fuel. In the information room there is a pool table and TV. Lots of information about the local area including walking and cycling maps, also offer a book exchange.

They have two well equipped amenity blocks including private shower rooms. One has been revamped for 2017. Washing machine and tumble dryer including one for dogs. There are a couple of freezers and a large fridge to use. They are very hot on recycling and there are various points all over the site.

There is a mini bus service offering trips to a few local towns. If you like fishing there is also a lake to lose yourself by for a few hours.

They have an excellent shop on site, you can order bread, croissants and papers. They have homemade cake each day to tempt your taste buds. As there are no pubs or restaurants within walking distance they offer a takeaway service several nights of the week. We had fish and chips and wasn't as good as on previous occasions probably due to the volume that they needed to cook and deliver. Someone said the same about the Chinese.

They also have glamping pods which have been on the site a few years now. Have stayed in one, very pleasant a big king size bed, cupboard space, little kitchen area and a nice deck with chairs and table provided. No shower or loo. New for 2017 they have two Shepherd huts which includes a shower and loo. The bed drops down for the evening. One has a hot tub. Comes with an outside tabke and chairs. They also have 4 wooden cabins. Looked inside one, pure luxury and they have a hot tub. Not cheap but you pay for what you get.

Overall certainly worth trying, it's become extremely popular, just a shame the prices are creeping up.
